ReOrientations
The Blog of the Critical Muslim Studies Project

Welcome to ReOrientations, the blog of the Critical Muslim Studies project. This blog is for those interested in navigating the post-Western world, exploring the Islamicate, and challenging Eurocentrism. While Muslimness and its epistemologies are central to Critical Muslim Studies, ReOrientations welcomes a diverse range of topics that extend beyond Muslim identities, histories, and diasporas.
To get a sense of what we publish, explore our list of blogs. You can also engage further with the Critical Muslim Studies project by listening to Radio ReOrient, now hosted by the New Books Network, or by reading our peer-reviewed journal, ReOrient, published by Pluto Journals.
What We Publish
We begin with the premise that we live in an increasingly post-Western world, where there is an urgent need for critical thinking that Eurocentrism does not bind. We welcome contributions that offer original insights into these themes, whether through theoretical engagement, historical analysis, or contemporary reflections.
